Meet Rosella, our September Member of the Month! Since joining Kanna in October 2022, she has shown incredible consistency, progress, and positivity. Whether it’s crushing workouts, cheering on classmates, or simply showing up with a great attitude, Rosella truly embodies our values of Learning, Working Hard, and Having Fun. We’re proud to celebrate Rosella and her fitness journey this month!

What are your favorite numbers and why?
3 9 and 27. My birthday is 3/9 and Laura’s is 09 27 09
What movements do you like?
squats of any kind (basic squats, goblet squats, back squats, thrusters, wall balls) and kip swings
What movements do you dislike?
Bike bike and bike
What sports or fitness things did you do before Kanna?
Ballet dancing for 15 years, running, horseback riding, tennis, hiking
How did you find Kanna? How did you feel when you first walked in?
Seema. I always felt welcomed. From my initial meeting with Steph to base camp with Marla. I am not a fan of the typical gym of lights that give me a headache and people running like gerbils in a row. I felt a sense of “I fit in here just fine” at Kanna. I love that the people I work out with have become so much more than “the people I work out with”. I have met some amazing people!
What’s your “why” for working out?
For my health (bone density) and stress relief.
What’s your favorite thing about Kanna?
I love how Kanna makes me feel, and I love how it makes others feel. You can “feel it” as soon as you walk through the doors, that it’s a good group of people that are there to feel good.
What are your hobbies?
Gardening, baking and hiking.
What’s something most people don’t know about you or a fun fact?
I studied architecture in Krakow, Poland for a term.
What PRs or accomplishments (fitness-related) are you most proud of?
Honestly, it’s the steady progress that I’m most proud of. I look back three years, and I’m amazed at how far I’ve come. I started out using the PVC pipe as my barbell.
What’s on your fitness bucket list?
Double jump roping.
What’s on your general bucket list?
To visit all 50 states – I have 4 to go.
What advice do you have for people new to Kanna?
You do you. Don’t worry about keeping up, don’t worry about how you look, and don’t worry about the numbers. Nobody else is judging you so just enjoy your amazing progress.
Anything else you’d like to mention?
It’s amazing how being stronger increases your self-confidence. I see it in myself, and I especially see it in my teenage daughter.

How does one become Member of the Month? By embodying the Kanna ideals of Learning, Working Hard, and Having Fun. By contributing to the community and supporting others in and out of the workout. By being open to coaching and improving oneself for the sake of being better, not to “win” the workout. By just generally being a good person and having a positive attitude. And a lot more, but you get the idea!
