Name
Lisa

Occupation

When did you start CF?
June 2019

What are your favorite numbers and why?
20- was Meghan’s club number. 6-was her high school number — 26 is her college number

What CF movements do you like?
Rowing- step-ups- dumbbell workouts- sit-ups- deadlifts

What CF movements do you dislike?
Wall balls

What sports or fitness things did you do before CF?
I didn’t play any sports. In the early 90’s I taught aerobics for a few years. Lifted weights using dumbbells never a barbell.

How did you find CF? What was your first workout?
Found Kanna through family members. First w/out involved wall balls and I think some barbell workout.

What’s your favorite thing about CrossFit?
Favorite thing I would have to say is the people. I love how we all cheer each other on. Even if you are the last person to finish the workout you still have people cheering you on.

What are your hobbies?
I don’t have any particular hobby. I’m always finding something to do!

What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I can’t think of anything- I’m pretty much an open book?!

What PRs or accomplishments are you most proud of?
I’m starting to see that I can lift a bit more. I sometimes think I can’t do a certain weight but I try it and realize I’m capable of more.

What’s on your CF bucket list?
Either a chin up or box jump!

What’s on your general bucket list?
Visit more places – to see more of the world!

What advice do you have for new (or experienced!) CrossFitters?
Enjoy it! Don’t sell yourself short. You are capable of more than what you think. Listen to the coaches they know their stuff and will guide you through.

Anything else you’d like to mention?
Not sure if my sister didn’t invite me to that first class I would have ever stepped into Kanna!

***Kanna members: Lisa’s custom workout will be TBD (obviously)***

How does one become Member of the Month? By embodying the Kanna ideals of Learning, Working Hard, and Having Fun. By contributing to the community and supporting others in and out of the workout. By being open to coaching and improving oneself for the sake of being better, not to “win” the workout. By just generally being a good person and having a positive attitude. And a lot more, but you get the idea!
