What’s in a Logo?

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Logo-only.png

Our logo is more than just some lines thrown together. Its shape, color, and specific number of lines all mean something.

SHAPE
The general shape of our logo is modeled after a cairn aka a human-made stack of rocks. Cairns are used for many different reasons, but one of the most popular is to mark a trail route while hiking. These markers act as a guide for those on a journey. For you, this might be your fitness journey. We all come from different fitness backgrounds and this symbolizes a new marker in your path to long-term health and wellness. When you see this symbol you can know that our goal is to keep you safe and guide you along the journey to looking, feeling, and performing better than ever. Don’t know the best way to get in shape? Come on in, we’ll show you the way!

COLOR
The color is red with a hint of orange. For those who have ever watched a great sunrise or sunset, this is just one of the colors in the spectrum of orange and red hues. Besides the actual enjoyment of watching sunrises/sunsets (and being outdoors), it is a symbol of closing out the unhealthy habits of the past and starting anew.

LINES
There are 10 lines representing the 10 General Physical Skills developed by Jim Cawley and Bruce Evans of Dynamax. They are:

  1. stamina
  2. strength
  3. flexibility
  4. cardiovascular/respiratory endurance
  5. power
  6. speed
  7. coordination
  8. agility
  9. accuracy
  10. balance

These are all things we work on in our classes and they require a great deal of humility, patience, and hard work to improve – but the payoff is worth it. Balance is intentionally at the bottom and above the dot because we want to emphasize balance in one’s life – not just for these 10 skills, but for work, home, and in between.

So in case you were wondering what our logo meant, there you go!
