If you have some New Year’s resolutions or goals, you’re not alone. About 60% of people go into a new year ready to make changes, but less than 8% actually stick with them. Here’s a secret: your goals don’t matter.
Let me rephrase that: your goals are not a factor in your success. They’re not unique. Everyone generally wants the same thing: to be healthy, to read more, to pick up a new hobby, etc.
So if everybody has similar goals, what sets apart the people who actually achieve them?
1. Intrinsic motivation
2. Starting small
3. Reducing friction
4. Being relatively consistent
I’ll break down each of these in later posts. For now, enjoy the start of 2021.
