We’d like to introduce Jenn Fountain as our newest Member of the Month!
As a member since March 2020, Jenn has:
- joined our group classes and then immediately went through a pandemic with us
- done both our group and private training (yay accountability!)
- helped put on a crazy successful KFA kick-off fundraiser at a local pool that she helps run (Fort Washington Swim Club)
- did Coach Marla’s Freezer Meal Prep class
- and even got her teen involved with our Youth program
In class, she embodies our values of Learning, Working Hard, and Having Fun. For all of those reasons and more, Jenn Fountain is our January Member of the Month – Congratulations!

When did you start at Kanna?
What are your favorite numbers and why?
7 and 13. No idea why they just speak to me 🙂
What movements do you like?
Anything not burpees 🙂
What movements do you dislike?
What sports or fitness things did you do before Kanna?
How did you find Kanna? What was your first workout?
There was a crossfit gym near my old New Hope Office and wanted to find something local. Seema was a member and told me about Kanna. Loved it soooo much!
What’s your “why” for working out?
I don’t want to “feel” my age. I want to be able to keep up with my kids in all of their activities.
What’s your favorite thing about Kanna?
The people. The encouragement I receive serves as a source of motivation for self-improvement, and I love exercising in a place that contributes positively to the community.
What are your hobbies?
Anything Camping (Survival)
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I think I am pretty much an open book.
What PRs or accomplishments (fitness-related) are you most proud of?
Deadlift 200 lbs and running a marathon
What’s on your fitness bucket list?
Climb a rope, run another marathon and hike the entire AT
What’s on your general bucket list?
Travel outside of the US more
What advice do you have for people new to Kanna?
Embrace the idea that modifying your workout isn’t a negative choice. Understand your limits, and gradually challenge and extend them with each session.

How does one become Member of the Month? By embodying the Kanna ideals of Learning, Working Hard, and Having Fun. By contributing to the community and supporting others in and out of the workout. By being open to coaching and improving oneself for the sake of being better, not to “win” the workout. By just generally being a good person and having a positive attitude. And a lot more, but you get the idea!
