A logo. While it’s not the be-all-end-all of a business, it can have significance and represent the mission of said business. Ours certainly does, so let’s dive in.
SHAPE
The general shape of our logo is modeled after a cairn aka a human-made stack of rocks. Cairns are used for many different reasons, but one of the most popular is to mark a trail route. These markers act as a guide for those on a journey. For you, this might be your fitness journey. We all come from different fitness backgrounds and this symbolizes a new marker in your path to long-term health and wellness. When you see this symbol you can know that our goal is to keep you safe and guide you along the journey to looking, feeling, and performing better than ever.
COLOR
The color is red with a hint of orange. For those who have ever watched a great sunrise or sunset, this is just one of the colors in the spectrum of orange and red hues. Besides the actual enjoyment of watching sunrises/sunsets (and being outdoors), it is a symbol of closing out the unhealthy habits of the past and starting anew.
LINES
There are 10 lines representing the 10 General Physical Skills developed by Jim Cawley and Bruce Evans of Dynamax. They are: stamina, strength, flexibility, cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, power, speed, coordination, agility, accuracy, and balance. These are all things we work on in our CrossFit classes and they require a great deal of humility, patience, and hard work to improve – but the payoff is worth it. Balance is intentionally at the bottom and above the dot because we want to emphasize balance in one’s life – not just for these 10 skills, but for work, home, and in between.
So there you have it – an explanation of our logo and what it symbolizes. As we said above, it’s not the be-all-end-all of a business, but we wanted something for people to rally around and identify with whenever and wherever they see it.
